Three of the four Yankees who regularly man the top of the order watched Friday's game from the dugout, but their replacements put on quite a show.
That is pretty much how it has gone for the Yankees lately. With Derek Jeter, Nick Swisher and A-Rod out of the lineup, Curtis Granderson and Brett Gardner sparked a 7-3 win over the Blue Jays, extending the Bombers' winning streak to seven games.
"We have such a deep team, we haven't relied on one or two guys all year," Mark Teixeira said. "It's been such a team effort, if one guy goes down or if two or three guys are out of the lineup like today, we have so many different guys that can contribute." (Daily news)
