Marcus Thames’ latest clutch homer and another sensational effort from the bullpen resulted in an uplifting Yankees’ victory.
Yet, at a crucial point of yesterday’s 7-5 Yankees win over the Blue Jays in front of 47,478 at Yankee Stadium, Javier Vazquez wasn’t pleased.
With two outs, runners on the corners and the Yankees ahead by two runs in the fifth, Joe Girardi emerged from the dugout. With his left hand touching the right arm, Dustin Moseley was being summoned from the bullpen.
Vazquez’s reaction was to put his arms in the air. Clearly, the veteran right-hander wasn’t ready to be removed from the game. (NY Post)
