The Yankees completed their final bit of trading deadline business Saturday by acquiring reliever Kerry Wood from the Indians in exchange for a player to be named later or cash.
According to a source familiar with the talks between the two teams, the Yankees will pick up approximately half of the $3.6 million owed Wood, who is making $10.5 million this season. (Daily News)
