As one homerless game followed another for Alex Rodriguez he took solace in the Yankees were winning without him hitting a milestone homer.
In the seven games after Rodriguez slugged No. 599, the Yankees won five and Rodriguez contributed eight RBIs.
Now, after last night's 3-2 loss to the Rays at Tropicana Field where Hal Steinbrenner and sister, Jennifer, were part of the sold-out crowd of 36,973, those who blame Rodriguez for everything wrong in the Yankees' universe have fodder.
Rodriguez went 0-for-4, produced ugly hacks and was annoyed at plate umpire Tim Welke.
"We didn't get a lot of hits," manager Joe Girardi said. "Some time you have to look at the guy on the mound. His at-bats, I was fine with them." (NY Post)
For the Yankees sake, he needs to get this over with and help the team out. Check out www.thefantasybaseballguru.com leave comments ask qs and follow me on Twitter at beatboston1995
