Joba Chamberlain’s chance to be the Yankees’ fifth starter is dwindling quickly.
Chamberlain is slated to be the Yankees’ third pitcher today against the Phillies in Clearwater. And in order to have any chance to remain in the hunt, Chamberlain needs to show manager Joe Girardi improvement from the first two outings.
“Got to pick it up, we have told him you got to pitch now,” Girardi said before last night’s 4-1 win over the Astros at George M. Steinbrenner Field. “We gave you those couple of starts to get under your belt. Now you have to show us, you got to pitch.” Continue
