How good have things been going for A.J. Burnett? Even when he's off his game, things are working out pretty well.
That was the case Wednesday, as the righthander found a way to beat the Twins even without much command of his fastball and even less of his devastating curveball.
Burnett still managed to lead the Yankees to a 4-3 win, their seventh straight road victory and 12th overall in the last 14 games. "It was battle mode the whole time," Burnett said. "I didn't have the hook all game, and my control was off, big-time. I fought myself a lot, but I was able to regroup and make pitches when I needed to." Continue
Yanks are finding a way to win games no matter what they have to overcome. And Burnett seems to keep them in ever game he pitches. When the Yanks signed him I was worried he would get hurt, like he has in the past in his career. But so far, fingers crossed, and knock on wood he's been a great addition. He is one of the new faces like Teixeira & Swisher that have shown that hunger to play hard and win, that the Yanks were missing.
Let's Go Yanks!!! P.S. Check my Yankee video out! http://tinyurl.com/km2lxw
