Whenever Mariano Rivera climbs onto a mound for the first time this spring, he says he knows his lethal pitching arsenal will come with him. That's despite still going through recovery from offseason right shoulder surgery, despite pitching through pain last season in a desperate and, ultimately, futile, attempt to get the Yankees into the playoffs and despite turning 39 over the winter.
"It will be there," Rivera said Saturday before the Yanks' first spring workout for pitchers and catchers. "When I go there on the mound, I know everything's going to be there. If it's not there that day, I know the next time it will be there." Continue
