Brian Cashman wasn't saying much Friday night about Hank Steinbrenner's decree that he will set up an advisory group this winter to generate more opinions on the Yankees' baseball operations. But the idea might influence whether Cashman will return as general manager, considering he nearly bolted the Yankees after the 2005 season because of organizational infighting between factions vying for George Steinbrenner's ear.
"I think the Steinbrenners should have a structure that they're comfortable with, without a doubt," Cashman said at the Stadium. But when he was asked if a new setup might preclude him from coming back, Cashman refused to answer. "That's not anything worth discussing today," he said. Continue
I can't wait for next year (I have CC and Sheets thoughts in my future!)...But in all seriousness my wife and I are going next Sunday and sadly its likely the last game ever at Yankee Stadium. Kinda funny how this year has gone and if things end the way they appear we may finish 4th! Yuck! It will be great though to kick the snot out of Baltimore for the final game! We got tickets in the upper tier for less than $200 which wasnt too bad (if anyone else is interested?) http://www.esellout.com/ResultsGeneralAtVenue.aspx?kwds=New+York+Yankees&venid=68
At least Hughes got the call up after the AAA playoffs, it would be a nice way to salvage his season with a couple good appearances heading into the offseason either as a part of Yankees future lure OR in a potential trade! LET'S GO YANKEES!

The Yankees do not need CC. I am not dimminishing his talent or the innings he pitched last year, which was numerous but he is young. He was amazing and was the reason the Brewers reached the postseason for the first time since 1982. As usual he was a bust in the postseason. He has devestating stuff, but he is not an American League pitcher and overall has not fared too well against the BoSox. Derek Lowe is another no-no, Burnett is a strong possibility and Texiera is a definite yes!
