Pettitte scratched from start due to back spasms
Andy Pettitte was scratched from a start for the second time this spring, this time due to back spasms. Yankees manager Joe Girardi, general manager Brian Cashman and Pettitte all said they hope Pettitte will be able to start either Thursday or Friday and be ready to start the second game of the regular season against the Toronto Blue Jays on April 2. Pettitte was due to face minor leaguers today instead of the Blue Jays.
"Thursday afternoon when I left here on my drive home, my back started locking up on me," Pettitte said. "As the night progressed, it kind of got tighter and tighter. I called Joe and just let him know, and we said we'd just see how it progressed." Continue
