Derek Jeter sees no fallout for Yankees
The Mitchell Report's findings may have cast a shadow on the Yankee dynasty of the 1990s, but as far as the captain of the Bombers is concerned, it will have no bearing on the team in 2008 and beyond. Yankees lefty Andy Pettitte, along with ex-teammates Roger Clemens and Chuck Knoblauch, will be grilled on steroid use in baseball at a Feb. 13 hearing on Capitol Hill, but Derek Jeter says the issue will be all but forgotten in the Yankee clubhouse by the time Pettitte reports to Tampa with the other pitchers and catchers the following day.
"I think Andy is probably going to be facing a lot of questions," Jeter told The Associated Press yesterday. "You know how it is in New York, there's always questions. It will probably die down after the first couple days when he talks to the media, addresses them and answers those questions. But in New York, there's always something every year. ... It might be a little different for Andy. Other than that, I don't think so." Continue
