Derek Jeter seeks HGH test as some players draw line in blood
Major League Baseball has taken steps to beef up its drug-testing policy, but according to several prominent Yankees, including captain Derek Jeter, the sport's image will never heal completely until players are tested for all drugs - most notably human growth hormone.
As negotiated by the Players Association, urine tests for performance-enhancing substances are administered in spring training and at least once more during the season. HGH is only detectable through blood tests, so even though it is on MLB's list of banned substances, players are not tested for it. Continue
