Cashman: 'I have confidence in our players'
Brian Cashman brought his son Teddy with him to Yankee Stadium yesterday. The general manager was prepared to answer questions about his stumbling club, which teeters one loss from another early offseason. Cashman stepped up on the dais, then sat behind a table, placing Teddy beside him. The shy 4-year-old, who was wearing a Giambi jersey, ducked beneath the table. His father joked, "He feels like me."
Cashman may have been only half-joking. Surely he could not have been looking forward to fielding inquiries about why his team is on the verge of being knocked out in the first round for the third straight season.
